Intertwining neuroscience and rhythmic entrainment, I conducted research examining if and how humans can entrain to sounds from the diegesis.
Although many studies about musical entrainment state that entrainment can be indicative subconscious listening, almost all the studies are based upon music. Thus, I created a fake diegesis of someone in their car during traffic on a rainy day to see if people could entrain to diegetic sounds as well as music. Using researched techniques to induce on musical, motor, physiological, social, and perceptual synchronization, I manipulated the diegesis to either heighten or diminish one's entrainment experience.
